The project

With this project, we aim to achieve several goals. First, we want to provide an appropriate space for the people we support through Co-Labor's farming activity. This includes, among other things, a place where people can work on the fields while also attending training sessions and meetings with the support service. Of course, we also provide sanitary facilities and changing rooms.

This infrastructure should also allow for a diverse and sustainable vegetable production throughout the year. In addition, we aim to increase our organic vegetable production capacity to meet customer demand and contribute to local agriculture.

Implementation

As a producer in the social sector, we are always looking for new solutions. Käerjeng offered a beautiful plot of land with well-suited structures, and we are currently in the final phase of large-scale construction work.

After facing challenges related to inflation and the geopolitical context that impacted our suppliers, we scaled down the project and reorganized our internal resources.

Having overcome these difficulties and with the project starting to take shape, I am excited every time I see the beneficiaries in training directly on the field, watching them evolve, and especially being able to conduct the first harvests.

Objective

We hope to establish a strong collaboration with the municipality of Käerjeng to develop many more projects. We aim to continue this action to witness the evolution of people in reintegration, but also to raise awareness about sustainable development and biodiversity. Because it is only together – as a team – that we are strong, and it is important to support local actors.
