At Back to Sport, the goal is to help people with reduced mobility and their loved ones regain a taste for and confidence in outdoor physical activities. With their experience and dedication, the team offers tailored support for resuming cycling, kayaking, hiking in nature, as well as swimming, running, and other related sports.
The sessions, organized up to four times a week, balance the levels of the participants, ranging from initiation to improvement to competition in triathlon events and other outdoor sports. This year, on June 1, 2024, Back to Sport organized its first adventure triathlon raid in Remerschen in collaboration with the Baggerweier team, another project supported by Œuvre.
The idea of Back to Sport was born out of a shared passion for sports and a glaring observation: the lack of support and investment for people with reduced mobility who want to resume physical activity. Xavier Masson from the non-profit organization Back to Sport explains: "We wanted to share our passion for sports and provide a solution to the lack of support for people with reduced mobility."
The objective is clear: to ensure a transition to a new life with confidence and positivity.
Disability is not an end in itself. Even with disabilities, we have the right to participate in a triathlon.

Back to Sport is committed to providing close support from initiation to improvement, in order to make the athlete as autonomous as possible in their chosen activity. The Adventure to Nature project aims to develop a taste for adventure and daring, while establishing lasting confidence in sports and within the team.
Since its launch, Back to Sport has faced several challenges. Operationally, the arrival of many new members simultaneously required constant rigor and motivation. Structurally, the lack of hours for employees and insufficient administrative follow-up for external communication and member tracking have been major obstacles. However, the team, composed of physiotherapists, adapted physical education teachers, and trained technicians, adapted by recording and generating data on activities to optimize the cost-effectiveness ratio.
Thanks to the support received, Back to Sport has been able to expand its activities to four sessions per week and is currently halfway through its program for 2024. "We are already working on plans for 2025, with the ambition to continue our mission under a convention and the approvals of the Ministries of Health, Sports, and Family," Xavier Masson rejoices.
The greatest satisfaction of Back to Sport lies in the progress of athletes and the improvement of their quality of life.
Seeing the progress of athletes and the growing number of new members is incredibly rewarding. The project addresses a crucial societal need: Sport and adapted physical activity are solutions to find a place in the most active life possible.

In the long term, Back to Sport plans to double their activities with a dedicated website and regular programs to prepare unique and memorable events. This first year of effort and the previous eight seasons push the team to continue.
The motto of Back to Sport: "Nature adventures are for me." Together, the team proves that overcoming and resilience go hand in hand, no matter the challenges.
